IETE Jammu celebrates Students' Day

JAMMU, Feb 2: Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Jammu in association with Govt. Degree college, Marheen, J&K, and in technical collaboration with Department of CS&IT and Department of Electronics, University of Jammu, and Vigyan Parishad, J&K, celebrated Students' Day, in online mode, today, on 1st of February, 2021. Prof. Neeraj Kumar, Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Thapar University, Patiala gave an invited talk on the occasion titled - CNN for IoT applications.
Professor Pawanesh Abrol, Chairman, IETE Jammu while welcoming the resource person and the participants, underlined that the objective of the Students' Day celebration is to organise academic events and provide platform to the student fraternity for sharing and interacting on innovative ideas Er. Vijay Sharma, Hon. Treasure, IETE Jammu read the message received from Prof. (Dr.) J. W. Bakal, President, IETE. Sh. Samir Vohra, Secretary, Vibha J&K, while addressing the participants, lauded the IETE for organizing the talk.
Parveen Lehana, Head, Department of Electronics while introducing the speaker emphasized that the sensor equipped internet of things are being developed that have learning capabilities Professor Lalit Sen Sharma, Head, Department of Computer Science & IT, University of Jammu appreciated the efforts of IETE Jammu in organizing academic events for the benefits of the students and faculty. He said that Convolution Neural Networks (CNN) and Internet of Things are the latest domains of research in computer science.
Joy Ganjoo, FIETE presented the concluding remarks where as Dr. Romille Malla Bhat, Principal, GDC, Mahreen and Hon Treasurer, IETE Jammu presented the vote of thanks. More than 100 registrations were received for the event. Prominent among those who attended included Prof. Rakesh Vaid, Er Palak Mahajan, Er. Namrata Karlupia besides a large number of scholars, students, and faculty members from ISF MIET, Jammu University and other institutions.
