SKK Alumni Vishali is first Divyang to get BCA in J&K

JAMMU, Feb 2: An alumni of Samaj Kalyan Kendra run School of Speech & Hearing Handicapped, Vishali Raina has passed Bachelor of Computer Application from Lovely Professional University, (JPU)Phagwara, Punjab and became the first divyang of Jammu, albeit, J&K to acquire this degree. She got 7.03 CGPA equivalent to 63.27% marks.
Daughter of Vijay Raina, a technician in PDD and Anita Raina, home maker, Vishali Raina was a meritorious student right from the childhood and passed Higher Secondary from School of Speech & Hearing Handicapped as school topper in 2016 and joined BCA course at Speaking Institute for the Deaf, Rajpura and successfully passed from JPU this year. She is presently pursuing Diploma course in Teaching Indian Sign Language at Rehabilitation Council of India. She was sponsored by Haryana Welfare Society for Persons with Speech and Hearing Impairment, Panchkula.
The management of the J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra, Jammu has lauded the rare achievement of its alumni and complimented her for such a path breaking academic feat, overcoming her physical impairment. It expressed profound happiness over the laurels she has brought to the NGO and its School and hoped that she would become a role model for other similarly placed students all over.
The President of SKK, K B Jandial has offered her immediate job of Computer Officer in its office at a monthly salary of Rs. 10,000 till her appropriate placement befitting to her qualifications. He hoped that some citizen spirited member of the corporate sector would come forward and engage her for suitable computer job, opening a vista for such qualified Specially Abled youth.
Talking to the Management, Vishali said that her success proves a point that Divyangs are second to none in achieving success in every aspect of life. She wanted the society to come forward and encourage such Specially Abled children to grow, develop and achieve their dreams which is possible despite their physical impairments.
