GMC Doda gets vital medical equipment under World Bank Project

DODA, Feb 3: Government Medical College Doda has been provided vital medical equipment under World Bank Project to facilitate best patient care in the institution.
Most of the equipment have been installed and put to use by different specialities. The diagnostic equipment made available are Electro Hydraulic & Hydraulic Operating tables(4) for Operation theaters; Automated 5-Part Differential Haematology Analyser (1) for the Department of Pathology for blood reporting in shortest time; Patient Monitors (15; Oxygen Concentrator (10) and Biphasic defibrillator (01) for monitoring and resuscitation of sick patients in Casualty section; Integrated Bipolar and Ultrasonic Coagulation Unit (1) - an effective equipment for preventing blood loss during surgery; 500MA X-ray machine(1) for OPD Block; 300MA X-ray machine (1) for Casualty department; 100MA Mobile X-ray machine for bedside X-rays in wards for convenience patients; C-arm Machine (1) for Operation Theatre for dealing with Orthopedic emergencies.
Similarly, the installation of Additional Haemodialysis Machine shall increase the capacity of hospital for performing Didalysis.
In addition, JKMSCL has supplied Colour Doppler Ultra sound Machine(1) for department of Radiology for more accurate reporting and Echocardiography; Bubble CPAP machines (2) for Paediatric department which are being used in providing assisted ventilation to infants and children with respiratory distress.
Besides these equipment 3 Anesthesia Work stations are in pipeline, which shall increase the Safety of anesthesia and establish separate OTs for Emergences. A TMT machine along with Echocardiography Machine for cardiac cases shall improve management of patients with cardiac diseases.
From April 2020 to January 2021, the Associated Hospital GMC Doda, have provided various services. Medicine Department performed 1311 dialysis of which 67 patients were COVID Positive, while Gynae Department performed 675 surgeries out of which 16 were COVID Positive.
Likewise, General Surgery Department operated 162 cases out of which 06 were COVID Positive. These included those operations which are usually performed in SKIMS Sgr and PGI .
Ortho Department performed 215 surgeries of with 02 were COVID Positive; ENT Department conducted 82 procedures- all Non Covid and EYE Department conducted 102 Surgeries since Nov 2020.
