DDC reviews implementation of PMAY-G

RAJOURI, Feb 5: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Friday convened a meeting with the officers of the Rural Development Department to review the implementation of Pardhan Mantri Awas yojana-Grameen (PMAY-G) in the district.
The meeting was attended by Divisional Forest Officer, Arshdeep Singh; Divisional Forest Officer Social Forestry, Rakesh Saraf; Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; District Panchayat Officer, Chander Kant Bhagat, Officer Commanding BRO and all the Block Development Officers.
The meeting was informed that as many as 5189 houses have been constructed till date, while 1717 proposed houses have forest issues.
The DDC reviewed block wise performance under PMAY-G and asked the BDOs to discuss the forest issues with the PRI members so that necessary action can be taken with their consent.
He also directed them to bridge the gap between the registered cases and the sanctioned cases of the PMAY by one week. He also directed them to complete the geo-tagging of Rural Development assets on a war footing.
The DDC also asked the BDOs to organise special camps in collaboration with Agriculture, CSC coordinates and by involving PRIs to ensure that all the eligible beneficiaries under SEHAT Scheme are registered. He asked them to ensure timely payment of MGNREGA wages.
The DDC informed the meeting that the District Administration Rajouri has decided to introduce the concept of Lokmitra in the district to facilitate the flow of information between the public and the Administration for speeding up the developmental process in the district.
“There will be three to four field functionaries in every village including VLWs, ASHA Workers, forest guards, Agricultural Extension Assistants who will be designated as Lokmitras to act as a bridge between the public and the District Administration” he added. The DDC asked the BDOs to utilise the services of Lokmitra in the developmental activities being carried out in their blocks so that the pace of the developmental process is enhanced and necessary benefits are provided to the common masses.
