EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 5: In an unprecedented development two rebel councilors from National Conference today joined hands with Peoples Conference, BJP, PDP and Apni Party to topple the National Conference backed President Municipal Council Kishtwar Raiz Ahmed Zarger.
As per details available with Early Times eight members in 13 Ward Kishtwar MC submitted a resolution to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar who reportedly forwarded it to Executive Officer Municipal Committee Kishtwar.
The signed resolution which was addressed to none had accused the President MC Kishtwar of failure for mitigating the purpose for which they have been elected- terming his behaviour as lazy, pathetic, neglected attitude as a result of which all the developmental works have hampered badly.
"The allegations of contractors and other NGOs have compelled us to pass the resolution to move vote of No Confidence Motion against Raiz Ahmad Zarger, President MC Kishtwar" read the unaddressed resolution.
In the resolution, the signatories including BJP's Drishta Gupta (member ward 10), Kulsum Begum (Member Ward No. 7) Rafiqa Begum (Member Ward No. 4), Shabir Ahmed Butt (Member Ward No. 9), Zahid Hussain (Member Ward No. 3), Ghulam Mohammad Butt (Member Ward No. 11), Maryam Begum (Member Ward No.1) had shown their support for the post of President MC Kishtwar to Peoples Conference District President Sajjad Ahmed Najjar who is councillor from Ward No. 6 and is also a signatory to the resolution.
After the revolt, NC has left behind with only three members while having the support of two Congress members. Speaking to Early Times, Raiz termed the resolution as a malicious propaganda against him adding that the resolution is not as per the set procedure. He said that in a well planned conspiracy, the resolution was drafted several weeks ago and the signatures were put on it in a phased manner while as per the rule-this resolution is to be rejected by the competent authority that holds the power under Jammu and Kashmir Municipality Act 2000.
He said that the photograph circulated on the social media wherein the councilors had submitted the so called resolution to Executive Officer MC Kishtwar had only six members in attendance adding that two signatories are missing from the scene at the time of its submission to EO MC Kishtwar.
