Brahman Sabha extends support to protesting Dharmarth Trust employees
2/5/2021 10:19:08 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 5: Dharmarth Trust employees on Friday held a massive protest at Maharani ki Samadhi below Gumat here seeking intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha in constitution of Board for all the temples under Dharmarth Trust on the pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
Holding banners and placards in their hands, the employees gathered at Maharani Ki Samadhi and staged a strong demonstration.
As the protest entered the 67th day and chain hunger strike at 40th day, hundreds of employees, including women continued their ‘dharna’ at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple and raised slogans against the J&K Government and Dharmarth Trust management.
Speaking on the occasion, President DTEA Vivek Bandral highlighted the present situation of Rani ki Samadhi which is very unhygienic condition as the trustee sold multi kanals of land attached to these Samadhi from some business men who constructed multi storey buildings for their commercial business activities all around the Samadhi.
Karnail Chand alleged that zone side Bibi Chand Kour Samadhi beautiful renovated by the Shik community which feel proud for every community whereas another hand the Rani ki Samadhi which was managed by the Dharmarth Trust totally ignored for development and beautification which is very big insult of every Hindu and every Dogra.
The Dharmarth Trust Employees Association thanked Raju Chandal, General Secretary of Amarnath Welfare Society who supported the striking employees demands from day one and issued so many press statements in their support.
Today representatives of Brahman Sabha also visited the Dharna venue and assured full support to the striking employees for genuine demands.
Ved Parkash Sharma (President of the Sabha) and other office bearers Shiv Ram Sharma, Jagdish Sharma and Prem Khajuria spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, those who sat on hunger strike today include Pt Jeevan Lal, Makhan Lal, Sagar Singh, Pritam Chand, Ashok Kumar, Tilk Raj, Om Prakash, Bhikham Chand, Asha Devi and Savita.
