3 storey residential house gutted in Dachhan

Kishtwar, Feb 7: In a tragic fire incident in remote Dachhan area of Kishtwar District, 3 story residential building reduces to ashes after it caught fire during last intervening night.
As per the details available with Early Times, the fire broke out in the residential complex wherein four families were residing and within no time the whole complex burnt down, leaving behind the heaps of ashes.
The victims were identified by the officials as Mahinder Kumar s/o Isher Dass, Sulochna Devi w/o Late Satish Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar s/o Isher Dass and Drobi Devi w/o Isher Dass all residents of Janakpur Dachhan.
As per the locals the area has no electricity and the cause of the fire is said to be the wooden furnace used by the villagers to keep their homes warm.
After witnessing the flames coming out of the house, the villagers raise the alarm and rescued the family members with the help of the police, but due to absence of road and fire fighting equipments— the house could not be saved from burning.
Speaking to Early Times, DDC member Dachhan Pujja Bhandari said that after coming to know about the tragic fire incident, she took up the matter with Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar who gracious enough to dispatch the relief material for the effected families. She said that District Administration had provided food, kitchen set, blankets, solar lamps and other essential commodities to the victim families beside also provide the cash assistance of Rs. 30000 to the effected families.
She said that Administration has also provided three tents for the families and had requested the administration to airdrop these tents at Dachhan for further distribution among them.
She said that she will take up the matter with the RDD officials for sanctioning the house in favour of the victims under PMAY.
She also laid stress for establishment of fire service station in Dachhan so that properties and lives could be saved during such fire incidents in future.
