Health Deptt takes cognizance of ET report pulls up CMO Rajouri for taking no action

Jammu, Feb 7: The Health Department while taking cognizance of Early Times report has pulled up the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rajouri for not taking prior action in the matter.
Early Times on its edition dated 04/02/2021 carried a news report with caption “Unani doctor allegedly runs illegal ultrasound clinic in Rajouri” and on next directorate of health services Jammu has sought explanation from the CMO.
“Find enclosed herewith the photocopy of the news item wherein it is mentioned that an illegal ultrasound clinic is being run in Mohgla block of district, Rajouri by a Unani doctor engaged under National Health Mission. It has been alleged that the said doctor is conducting USGs in his private clinic even during duty hours’”, copy of a letter written to CMR Rajouri vide no. DHS-J/HEB/ 952, dated 05/02/2021 read. Deputy Director Health Services, Jammu Dr Seema Gupta has also asked CMO Rajouri to explain her position for not taking prior actions. “As per the news item, all the norms regarding PCPNDT Act are blatantly being flouted by the said doctor. I have been asked to direct you to conduct an enquiry into the matter and also explain your position as an Appropriate Authority as to why no prior action was taken from your side till date”, the letter reveals.
“Also go through the news item thoroughly and accordingly submit the Action Taken Report within five days positively. Matter may be treated as most urgent”, the letter reads.
