Dharmarth Trust employees take out protest rally

JAMMU, Feb 9: Dharmarth Trust employees, who are on protest for the last 71 days and chain hunger strike for the last 44 days, on Tuesday took out a rally here seeking intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha in constitution of Board for all the temples under Dharmarth Trust on the pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
Holding banners and placards, the employees including Pujaris in traditional dress gathered at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple and staged a strong demonstration from where they took out rally amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras and blowing of Shankh and bells.
Employees are demanding Shrine Board and CBI enquiry of land scandals by persons having control on Dharmarth Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, Association President Vivek Bandral thanked Dr Karan Singh who accept after 60 years that the Dharmarth trust is not a private trust and it is a religious and charitable trust but same time she alleged that if he accepts it is a public charitable trust then why he introduce their own family as trustee in this trust and under which law he allowed and under which manner they sold multi Kanals land, buildings by way of under hand deals, under which law they lift Shri Raghunath Treasury.
"CBI enquiry of all misdeeds and misappropriation of funds should be conducted so that true facts come on the white paper," she said.
Meanwhile, the persons who sat on hunger strike today include Sonali, Pt Raj Pal, Pt Jagdish Raj, Pt Karun Goswami, Th Raghubir Singh, Dev Raj, Om Prakash, Darshan, Balwant, Sheetal and Bimla Devi.
Ex-President Thakur Kernail Chand, ex-General Secretary, Pritam Sharma, Sunit Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Subash, Shobha, Nisha and Sonika were also present in the protest.
