Failed to keep her flock together Mehbooba shifts blame on BJP

early times report
jammu, Feb 9: Failed to keep her flock together, PDP president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti charged the Union Government with bulldozing democratic institutions in J&K.
Although District Development Council (DDC) members of the PDP have cross-voted against candidates of Gupkar Alliance in a couple of districts, Mehbooba Mufti appears to be not ready to accept this ground reality.
"Disgusting that senior officers in administration and police have taken it upon themselves to violate the mandate of people. By scrapping Article 370, BJP had already murdered Insaniyat and Kashmiriyat. Now by manipulating DDC results, they've put the final nail in the coffin of Jamhuriyat", she tweeted while reacting to defeat of Gupkar Alliance candidates in Srinagar, Shopian, Kupwara and Budgam DDCs.
She alleged that the BJP has nailed the last nail in the coffin of democracy by rigging the DDC elections. "I am not surprised by the DDC chairmanship results as DDC members were given two months to buy and intimidate," she said.
"So much for Vajpayee ji's vision of Insaniyat, Kashmiriyat and Jamhuriyat. Not surprised at all by recent DDC Chairmanship results. Two months were given to buy and intimidate the DDC members", she said.
Mehbooba Mufti is facing embarrassment due to her failure to keep her flock together in the ongoing elections of the chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of the DDCs of different districts.
