early times report
POONCH, Feb 9: An employee of the District Hospital Poonch was threatened by an officer of district administration for refusing to give illegal power connection from the hospital to a house situated adjacent to the hospital.
Sources told Early Times that an influential family that resides near the District Hospital Poonch had got an illegal power connection from the hospital to enjoy 24 hours power supply due to which an incident of short circuit took place resulting in many equipment of the hospital were damaged.
Taking action against the illegal power connection, the DDC Poonch had ordered the hospital administration to cut the power connection and seizure of power supply cables. Interestingly after a few days of incident, the family members asked the concerned employee to return the power supply cable, which he refused.
They further said that the influential family used pressure tactics by asking an officer from district administration to get the cable back. The officer called the employee and threatened him of attachment and said that he would bring another employee here for the work if he didn't return the cable and give them connection again from the pole outside the hospital.
The employee, who was in-charge of hospital property refused to do so and informed the officer that the illegal connection has already caused huge damage to the electrical equipment of the hospital that is why he can't allow them to have an illegal connection.
When Early Times contacted the CMO Poonch, he said that he would not let it happen. Meanwhile, when the officer was contacted he denied and said that he did not threaten the employee.
