ANANTNAG, Feb 9: A group of employees posted at District Youth Service and Sports office in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Monday accused their district head of harassing them unnecessarily.
The employees have filed a written complaint with Director General Youth Service and Sports (J&K) against the officer and also sought the intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam.
"The District Youth Service and Sports officer is using rough and abusive language against the employees," they alleged in the complaint.
The employees alleged that the officer resorts to violence and treats the employees disrespectfully.
"He often calls females employees by nicknames and forces us to stay in the office beyond working hours," they alleged.
"He is very disrespectful towards our female staff and often calls them by nicknames which we can't write here," reads the complaint.
The employees also claimed that the officer was forcing them to sign vague orders which he issues.
"He threatens the employees that he will relieve them and get them transferred to far off places," they alleged.
The employees have requested Director General Youth Service and Sports (J&K) Dr Saleem Reham to either shift the officer or transfer the whole staff to some other places.
"We aren't in a position to discharge our official duties in an effective and healthy manner in presence of this officer," they said, while urging Director General Youth Service and Sports (J&K) Dr Saleem Reham to do justice either shift the officer or transfer the whole staff to some other places.
On being contacted, District Youth Service and Sports officer Anantnag Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori refuted the allegations and said that the employees were filling baseless complaints against as he was asking his employees to be punctual and attend duties as per timing notified by the Government.
"These allegations are baseless. I am asking them to be punctual and attend duties for which they are being paid. This is the only reason they want my transfer so that they can attend duties at their own will," he told Early Times on phone.
