Range Level Cricket tourney concludes at GDC Udhampur
Chenab challengers Reasi bags trophy

UDHAMPUR, Feb 9: Chenab challengers Reasi today bagged trophy of Range level U-19 Cricket Tournament organised by Range Police Headquarters Udhampur under Civic Action Programme.
The final match was followed by closing ceremony held under the supervision of DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Sujit Kumar, here at Government P.G College Boys.
On the occasion, Police Martyrs families were invited as chief guests and honoured by Range Police Hqrs. Udhampur.
The officers present on the occasion included Sargun Shukla, SSP Udhampur as guest of honor, Rajinder Katoch, Addl.SP; Prof.B.L.Thakur, I/c Principal Government P.G.College; Imtiaz Ahmed SO RPHQ; Sahil Mahajan, Dy.SP Hqrs; Shashi Sharma, Physical Director GDC Udhampur, prominent citizens, noted personalities of sports and media fraternity of Udhampur.
On behalf of all the martyrs families present over there, Sunil Singh S/o Martyr S.I Gian Chand extended his gratitude to the Range Police Udhampur for first of its kind gesture towards the Martyrs families.
The final Match was played between Chenab Challangers VS Devika Dare Devils. After winning the toss, Chenab Challangers decided to bat first and set a target of 145 runs in 20 over match, which could not be chased by the Devika Dare Devils. Chenab Challangers won the match by 06 runs and grabbed the trophy.
Winner team was awarded with cash prize of Rs.16,000 with trophy and medal. Runner up team was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 8000 with trophy and medal.
Meanwhile, Ashank of Devika Dare Devils was declared as Man of the tournament and get cash prize of Rs.3000 and trophy, Udhay Partap of Devika Dare Devils as Best Batsman of the tournament with cash prize of Rs.1000 and trophy, Irfan of Chenab Challangers as best bowler of the tournament with cash prize of Rs.1000 and trophy and Nasir Malik of Chenab Challangers was declared as Man of the final match awarded with cash prize of Rs.500 and trophy. All the participants were awarded with participation certificate.
While addressing the gathering, the DIG said that this tournament was organized to promote the essence of sportsmanship among the youth and to keep them away from social evils and channelize their positive energy. All the 04 participating teams are winner for the UR range, the DIG added.
