Technical Workshop cum Awareness Camp on innovation, incubation held

RAJOURI, Feb 9: Govt. P.G. College Rajouri organized One Day Technical Workshop cum Awareness Camp on "innovation, incubation and training"-shaping the young minds under the aegis of J&K Higher Education Department (HED) in collaboration with Gujarat Grassroots Innovation Augmentation Network (GIAN) here on Monday.
On this occasion, Sanjeev Rana, Additional Secretary, Higher Education Department was the chief guest whereas Prof. Iqbal Pervaiz Dean Academic Affairs, BGSBU Rajouri was keynote speaker.
Farkhanda Ana, Coordinator Innovation Cell BGSBU Rajouri, Syed Nadeem Incubation Manager, GIAN J&K, Sabzar Wani (GIAN-J&K) and Ashfaq Coordination Cell HED were resource persons in the workshop - spread over 3 sessions and followed by interaction.
The resource persons demonstrated how innovation can be fostered among young minds. Students from 13 Colleges of District Rajouri & Poonch participated in the workshop and presented innovative, sustainable and eco-friendly ideas. Raina in his welcome address gave an overview of history, background, achievements and courses especially skill oriented courses offered by the College.
Iqbal Pervaiz underlined the need of innovation in Peer Panjal which has huge potential to contribute in employment generation and entrepreneurship at par with the Aatim Nirbar Bharat vision of Govt. of India.
Sanjeev Rana assured his full cooperation to provide funding for innovative young minds from the region. He exemplified how tradition and science can go hand in hand by innovation. Students including Vishavpreet Singh and Shabina Choudhary also showcased their innovative ideas on the occasion.
Mohd Iqbal Raina conducted the proceeding of the programme whereas Bashir Ahmed Coordinator Innovation and Incubation Cell at College presented formal vote of thanks. A large number of students from different colleges along with the Coordinators participated in workshop cum camp.
