JK reports 73 new cases of COVID-19; two fresh deaths, positive cases reach 125341

SRINAGAR, Feb 14: The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 1, 25,341 as 73 new cases of virus came to the fore today.
The death toll reached 1,951 following two deaths in the past 24 hours or so.
Srinagar district reported 37 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu district 14 cases, Anantnag district seven cases, Pulwama district five cases, Budgam district four cases, Baramulla district two cases and Bandipora, Ganderbal, Shopian and Poonch districts one case each. A death each was reported from Jammu and Kashmir divisions respectively.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 73 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 15 from Jammu division and 58 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 25,341.
Also two COVID-19 deaths have been reported; one from Jammu division and one from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 65 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 16 from Jammu division and 49 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 25,341 positive cases, 622 are active positive, 1, 22,768 have recovered and 1,951 have died; 725 in Jammu division and 1,226 in Kashmir division.
Out of 48, 46,627 test results available, 47, 21,286 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 12, 18,505 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 33,973 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 622 in isolation and 1, 05,985 in home surveillance. Besides, 10, 75,974 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,529 positive cases, 217 active positive, 25,852 recovered, 460 deaths; Baramulla has 8,158 positive cases, 28 active positive, 7,955 recovered, 175 deaths; Budgam has 7,822 positive cases, 38 active positive, 7,666 recovered, 118 deaths; Pulwama has 5,788 positive cases, 38 active positive, 5,662 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,671 positive cases, six active positive, 5,569 recovered, 96 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,959 positive cases, 46 active positive, 4,827 recovered, 86 deaths; Bandipora has 4,703 positive cases, 13 active positive, 4,628 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,660 positive cases, 47 active positive, 4,566 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,709 positive cases, 14 active positive, 2,641 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,584 positive cases, 15 active positive, 2,529 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,089 positive cases, 85 active positive, 24,631 recovered, 373 deaths; Udhampur has 4,236 positive cases, 25 active positive, 4,154 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,873 positive cases, four active positive, 3,814 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,436 positive cases, six active positive, 3,366 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,256 positive cases, 3203 recovered, 53 deaths.
“Samba has 2,835 positive cases, nine active positive, 2,786 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,733 positive cases, one active positive, 2,710 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,519 positive cases, 24 active positive, 2,471 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, 2,114 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,646 positive cases, six active positive, 1,624 recovered, 15 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 25,341 positive cases in J&K, 11,927 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
