Mayor kick starts various development works

JAMMU, Feb 19: Continuing his endeavour to provide more development & civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation today alongwith Surinder Choudhary Councilor of ward no.29 conducted an extensive tour of Shiv Nagar & its adjoining localities & kick started renovation work of lane No. 4-A upper Shiv Nagar Jammu by way of laying paver tiles as well as covering of drains on both sides of the lane with iron gratings.
Ved Parkash Gupta, Satpal Khajuria, Krishan Verma, Suresh Kumar, Karan Sharma, Varun Bakshi, Balvinder Kumar and other prominent inhabitants of the ward as well as Kishore Kumar Executive Engineer, Vijay Kumar, AEE, S.K. Bhatt Junior Engineer & other field staff of Division II of Engineering Section, JMC were also accompanied the Mayor during the tour.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the locals who were facing great hardships while passing through this lane due to its dilapidated condition as this particular lane is the main link between Shiv Nagar & Rajpura area and there often remains great rush of general public who finds easy approach to reach their to & fro destination through this lane and to fulfill the grievances of the inhabitants of the locality, the much awaited construction work has last been started today by the JMC with an estimate cost of Rupees Six lac only.
The locals expressed great gratitude to the Mayor for taking keen interest to fulfill their demands and assured that they will fully support to the JMC & other allied department in the development activities as well as maintaining their ward neat & clean.
