2/19/2021 11:32:50 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 19: With Delimitation Commission begins its functioning, the reservation of Assembly seats and two parliamentary seats for Kashmiri Pandits has started gaining momentum.
Though there are mushrooming of organisations among Kashmiri Pandit organisations toeing different ideology but there is almost a consensus among majority of KO bodies in this regard who not only strongly advocate for reservation of five constituencies in J&K UT Assembly under the new process of delimitation of constituencies but believe that this can also be a one of the Confidence Building Measure (CBM) for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits to Valley.
The demand has been forcefully raised by All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC), a premier organisation of KPs led by a staunch RSS man Mr Wangnoo, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), led by Kundan Kashmiri, Panun Kashmir (PK) led by Virender Raina, Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM), BJP displaced District and Vitasta Samaj Sewa led by Chand Ji Kher.
These organisations have decided to put up the demand before the Delimitation Commission and sources said that KP organisations have decided to put this demand unitedly.
Sources said the displaced Pandits are demanding reservation of five Assembly seats in J&Kv and two in Parliament one each in Lok Saba and Rajyai Sabha respectively in the delimitation of constituencies.
The Kashmiri Pandits have said that the community goes un represented in Assembly and Parliament over the decades.
They said that this step will led to empowerment of the minority community of Kashmir which is the long pending demand of the community.
It may be recalled that senior KP leader have already submitted a memorandum to Delimitation Commission in this regard. The KP bodies said that the seats in Parliament can be even nominated by the Government to give a representation to the community.
