JAMMU, Feb 28: Director Animal Husbandry Department Jammu, Vivek Sharma, today attended an awareness camp at Batote, Ramban.
The camp was organized by Ramban’s organization & Extension & Publicity wing of the department under Centrally Sponsored Scheme “ASCAD”.
During the camp, the farmers were made aware about various components of farmer welfare schemes, like Integrated Dairy Development Scheme, Feed & fodder development scheme, KCC, NAIP, NADCP etc. Series of lectures on ‘Repeat Breeding’ in animals, Importance of vaccination, Nutritional Management in Dairy animals and other managemental tips to be followed by the dairy owners, were delivered by the experts of the department .
The Director, in her address, stressed upon the farmers to come forward and take benefit of these schemes & aim to become future entrepreneurs of the area. She also assured them all help from the department and accordingly directed CAHO Ramban and other staff members in this regard.
Dr. Javid Katoch, DD (AH), Dr. B B Raina, CAHO Ramban and Yug Veer, Member District Development council also spoke on the occasion. Besides Progressive farmers other prominent PRI members also participated in the said function.
