DC reviews traffic de-congestion measures in Doda town

DODA, Mar 13: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode today chaired the meeting of concerned officers to review the traffic de congestion measures in the Doda town.
During the meeting, the DC held threadbare discussion on various measures for traffic decongestion in Doda town, especially in and around Bus stand Doda.
It was informed that more than 15 RTC buses remain parked in the bus stand, while around 100 illegal Rehries are also placed in and around Bus stand which is hampering the movement of traffic.
The DC prohibited the parking of RTC buses at bus stand, also asked the concerned to allow only 2 buses at a time in the bus stand, besides asked them to park their buses outside Sports Stadium.
Further, the DC also directed the concerned not to allow the entry of load carriers inside the city during the day time.
Regarding the prevalence of Rehries in and around bus stand Doda, the DC directed the Executive Officer, MC to remove the same within two days.
While reviewing the issue of recent accidents, mainly of Eco vehicles, the DC directed the ARTO to evaluate a comprehensive plan to phase out these as well as other vehicles which are not suitable to ply on local roads to avoid any untoward incident in the future also.
Besides, the DC directed the Traffic, MVD and Municipality Department to remove all the encroachments from the road sides, and take strict action against the illegal parking.
Among others present during the meeting are ADC Doda, Kishori Lal Sharma; DIO Doda, Mohammad Ashraf Wani; Dy SP Traffic, Pankaj Soodan; Dy SP Hqr, Jaswant Singh; besides other concerned Officers and Officials.
