Early Times Report

BasoHli , Mar 13: DDC Chairman Kathua district, Col Mahan Singh on Saturday hailed Modi Government for its swiftness in evaluating the much needed work of double laning of road from Lakhanpur-Mahanpur-Basohli upto Dunera and Balasundri Tunnel connecting Billawar with Kathua.
In a statement issued here, the DDC Chairman expressed confidence that upon completion, this road link and tunnel will contribute significantly in transforming the socio-economic texture of the region and will help in ushering a new era of development and public empowerment.
The DDC Chairman categorically mentioned the inspiring role played by the MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh in pushing through this particular development project after Col Mahan Singh along with other DDC members of the region met him and sought his intervention.
Expressing his gratitude to Jitendra Singh, he said these two projects are very vital in the developmental interest of Basohli-Bani-Billawar hilly region.
He applauded the concerned central ministry also for giving consideration to these crucial projects which are going to impact life of people of the region in a very positive manner.
Col Mahan said that roads and bridges are the lifeline of any region and that was the reason he approached Jitendra Singh over the issue and urged him to put forward the demand.
He solemnly admitted that the way things are moving, government nod is expected soon and therefore people will feel delighted and grateful to the Modi government.
He said that the way BJP Government is focusing on J&K for changing its development profile, the days are not far when UT will turn out to be a model for other states and UTs to follow the pursuit.
