PUNE, Mar 14: Senior Congress leader and ex-Minister of J&K, Jugal Kishore Sharma held a meeting with the Travel Agents Association Pune (TAAP) at Pune.
The meeting was organized to explore the possibilities to give fillip to the tourism sector of Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory (UT) in general and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji pilgrimage in particular.
The President of Travel Agents Association Pune (TAAP) Deepak Pujari along with his colleagues gave valuable suggestions to former minister Jugal Kishore Sharma to boost tourism industry in J&K Union Territory especially Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji yatra.
Pujari and his team suggested starting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji Parikrama on the analogy of other famous yatras of the country like Kailash Mansarovar and Goverdhan Parvat.
The TAAP members said that the Travel Agents of Pune are ready to promote this new concept of Parikrama for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi yatra, adding that they all would like to visit Katra soon.
On the occasion, the TAAP gave a brief itinerary of the proposed Parikrama. The proposal says that after reaching Katra the Mata ki Parikarma will start from Main Bazaar, Katra to Tote, near Reasi, which is approximately 60 kms away.
The journey will be taken up by taxi. After which the yatris will procced to Sukhalghati, 7 kms from Tote, either on a pony or on foot. If the yatris want to have a night stay at Sukhalghati the locals will provide boarding and lodging facilities.
On day 2, after having breakfast the yatris will move towards Jangal Gali near about 9 kms on a pony or on foot and Jungal Gali to back Main Bazar, Katra near about 33 kms by taxi. This will be the completion of the Mata ki Parikrama for yatris, they added.
The TAAP sought cooperation of J&K UT administration and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in making the Mata ki Parikrama concept a successful venture.
The TAAP members who were present on the occasion included Mohan Shedge, Avdhoot Vaidya, Payal Joshi, Kumar Belsare, Pramod Shevde, Sunil Gole, Amit J Pandit, Ashok Sapkal and Nilesh Bhansali.
