| CF seeks explanation on r-development in PPP mode | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 16: Citizen's Forum senior most members filed a PIL for development and creating modern facilities and infrastructure in Jammu Railway Station in 2011.
The Division Bench of J&K High court Jammu had fixed a meeting of members of Citizen's Forum and Divisional Manager Northern India Railways to chart out the requirements for reinvestment and creation of new infrastructure in Jammu Railway Station.
22 issues for modernisation of station were agreed and promised to be completed the renovations by 2014. Jammu Railway Station is the most profitable and earning Railway Station in India, generating huge amount of money due to Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims.
People of Jammu demand why re-development by PPP mode when sufficient funds are being earned from the station.
R K Chadha president Citizen's Forum along with former ADGP S S Wazir, Former Chief Engineer Arun Sharma continuously took up the matter with Railway authorities by visiting regularly, Railway Station Jammu, to clear the bottle-necks of rampant corruption particularly in Parking and many other issues.
Some of renovations were taken up by the Railway authorities and equipments installed which were later on inaugurated by leaders of Jammu with great pump and show but they never bothered to inquire the completion of full 22 important issues. Even the MP's never raised an issue for redevelopment after inaugurating few additions in the Station. |
