Mehbooba's 'peace initiative' back-fired another senior leader likely to quit PDP
3/16/2021 11:31:22 PM

Early Times Report
jammu, Mar 16: Efforts of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti to strike a balance between two warring factions appeared to be having failed as a faction is annoyed after announcement of new office bearers. A senior party leader is likely to quit the party over the decision of the leadership to accommodate his detractors.
Reliable sources told The Early Times that appointment of new office bearers has triggered another controversy within PDP because both the warring factions were not satisfied with these appointments. "A senior party leader is likely to quit the party because Mehbooba Mufti has accommodated his critics on important positions just to strike a balance", sources said, adding, "Apni Party and other political groups are already trying to rope in this leader".
Wishing anonymity, a senior PDP leader told The Early Times that efforts of Mehbooba to bring truce between warring factions were backfired because appointments of office bearers annoyed a large number of Jammu based leaders. "Within a day or two, we will sit together to chalk out future course of action because many leaders feel insulted after appointments of new office bearers", he said.
Already almost all founder members of the party in Jammu have quitted PDP during the last some months and new appointments have opened fresh Pandora box. Trilok Singh Bajwa, Ved Mahajan, Daman Bhasin, Falail Singh have Hussain Ali Waffa recently resigned from the party.
Bajwa, Mahajan, Bhasin and Singh were the founder members of the party.
As reported earlier Mehbooba Mufti has tried to strike a balance between two warring factions by nominating office bearers.
