Early Times Report

JAMMU, Mar 23: A cluster of Kinner community blocked the road at CPO Chowk this afternoon, as their head (Guru) was allegedly attacked by another group over dispute of distribution of area.
Rubina, a Guru of Kinner cluster today along with her disciples reached at CPO Chowk and blocked the road, which caused traffic havoc for some time. She was alleging a murderous attack on her by a rival group led by Saira Haji, during a meeting at Shahidi Chowk area of Jammu city.
"Several unsuccessful attempts to murder me by other Kinner group have taken place in past too. But it is happening due to Police inaction over my repeated complaints. Saira Haji, head of another cluster of Kinner, called me for a meeting at his Dera at Shahidi Chowk and attacked me", Rubina told the media with tears in her eyes, blood stains on her clothes and bandage on her head.
She alleged that she was attacked by a criminal from Budaun, Uttar Pradesh at Saira Haji's Dera, however she did not tell the media why she has been there.
"It was not the first attack on me, in the past I have gone through similar trauma as well", she told the media outside the IGP office. "I have lodged many complaints in the past, but Police did not take cognizance of my complaints", Rubina said, adding that today she met IGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh.
"I apprised the IGP Jammu about my apprehension. I hope now Police will take action to prevent such incidents in future. If police do not intervene today, they (other group) will certainly eliminate me one day", she added.
Earlier, when Rubina was meeting with IGP Jammu, her disciples blocked the road at CPO Chowk and shouted slogans against Saira Haji.
A Police officer when contacted said that they have sorted out the issue on their own and no case has been registered over today's incident. "There was a dispute of control of the area between two groups, and the same has been solved by the both parties themselves", he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Rubina Kinner recently has led a protest against forceful abduction and castration of four transgender persons by the rival.
