DC Poonch chairs weekly block Diwas at Gulpur

POONCH, Mar 24: Continuing the endeavors of the District Administration to resolve the long-standing issues of the Public and address their developmental concerns, the district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today organized Block Divas in village Gulpur, an area very close to the Line of Control.
BDC Chairperson Poonch, Member DDC Poonch, Sarpanches, Panches and People in large numbers participated in the event and shared their thoughts. General Public from the adjoining areas of Khari, Karmara, Banwat, Kossallian, Ajote and other areas participated in the Block Diwas and projected several issues and demands. They sought the repair of the Sarar Canal, macadamization and renovation of border roads, repair of the handpumps and other issues related to PHE and PDD. They further raised their demand for more bunkers in the area.
In his address, the DDC said that the District Administration shall leave no stone unturned in the resolution of all the genuine concerns of the general public. He redressed many grievances on the spot and passed a slew of directions to the concerned district officers for timely resolution of other projected issues. He also threw a detailed light on the roadmap that is going to be followed for the transformation of the district in the times to come. He further directed the officers to take the elected representative into confidence and follow the Panchayati Raj Act in its real spirit, so that a true and vibrant grass root level democracy was established on the ground. Inder Jeet assured them that the functioning of various government offices in the area shall be streamlined and stringent action shall be taken against the erring officials. Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch Dr. Vinod Kumar, who was also present on the occasion, extended his full support and co-operation for the betterment of the area.
