HSS Srigufwara closed after student tests positive for COVID-19

ANANTNAG, Mar 24: Authorities today closed a Higher Secondary School in Srigufwara area of this district after a class 10th student tested positive for COVID-19.
Zonal Education Officer Srigufwara confirmed to Early Times and said that they have ordered the closure of school. He said that class 10th student tested positive during a mass testing program. "We have isolated the student and also ordered the closure of school for three days," he said.
Health Officials in Anantnag said that they were monitoring the situation and precautions will be taken for ensuring the safety of students. Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla, also a convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the status of Covid-19 vaccination program and Sehat scheme
The meeting discussed measures to be taken in wake of the looming threat of a fresh Covid-19 wave. Addressing the meeting, the DC emphasized on executing proactive measures, ramping of testing numbers besides readying men and machinery with active and effective coordination among Health, ICDS, Revenue and RDD officials to tackle the new wave of Covid-19 Pandemic.
Dr. Singla also directed 100 percent testing in all educational institutions, tuition centers and public offices. Regarding the ongoing vaccination process, the DC directed concerned Health authorities to generate mass awareness about safety and importance of vaccination vis a vis combating the pandemic.
He also called for vaccination of all vulnerable persons/groups and sought active involvement of ground level officials to ensure the same. Regarding Sehat scheme, it was informed more than 500 CSCs have been registering the applicants and the registration process is also going in government hospitals of the district.
It was also given out that more than 3 lac registrations for Sehat/Golden Cards have been made in the district. The DC directed for increasing the pace of the registration process and ensuring cent percent saturation under the scheme is achieved in a time bound manner. Deputy Chief Medical Officer Anantnag Dr MY Zagoo said that they have so far vaccinated 35218 individuals in Anantnag district.
