Jammu, Mar 28: Second match of Champions Trophy Akhnoor was played between Akhnoor Veterans and Jammu Sports Veterans at GHSS Akhnoor. The toss was won by Akhnoor Veterans which elected to bat first. Akhnoor Veterans scored 156/6 in 20 Overs. Sonu Malhotra 72(41), Deepak Sharma 19 (17), Mall Ditta 17 (14) were top scorers among Akhnoor Veterans. From Jammu Sports Club Koushal and Mukesh Sharma shared 2 Wickets each, and Kulvir got 1 wicket.
Chasing the target Jammu sports veterans managed to score only 151/6 in 20 Overs which resulted that Jammu Sports Veterans lost the match by 3 runs. From Jammu Sports Veterans Jagdev Singh 44, Mukesh Sharma 24, Davinder Sharma 15, Vishal 15 were top contributors. From Akhnoor Veterans Jagpal Sharma and Rajinder shared 2 Wickets each while Sham Singh Langeh got 1 wicket. Sonu Malhotra was judged man of the match for his Splendid Knock.
Rakesh Malhotra Convenor BJP Akhnoor District Industries and Traders Cell and Councillor Ward Number 6 was the Chief Guest and Atul Sudan (Vice President Press Club of Akhnoor) was the guest of honor. They both appreciated the efforts of Sham Singh Langeh and Mukesh Sharma for organizing the matches in all categories in Akhnoor and Jammu. The Match was organized by Singh Cricket Club under overall supervision of Kr Sham Singh Langeh General Secretary JKCA District Jammu. Stephen Sotra and Karan Gupta were umpires of the Match and Manav Mehta was the scorer.
