Take Precautions
4/1/2021 12:09:48 AM
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has once again classified the districts across union territory into Red, Orange and Green zones as the spike in COVID-19 cases has sent alarm bells ringing.
The second wave of the pestilence has arrived and the authorities are getting ready to tackle the crisis that may emerge. Experts have already sounded an alarm about the possibility of this wave being more deadly than the first wave.
Another factor which could lead to complications is that people are not coming forward to get the COVID-19 jab. The doctors have been repeatedly saying that getting vaccinated is must to develop herd immunity and it has been proven beyond doubt that the vaccine has no side effects. People should not pay any heed to rumours and get themselves vaccinated at the earliest.
Even after one year the COVID-19 has not gone and it continues to prevail. People need to bear in mind that the guard cannot be lowered. The pestilence is far from over. Following the basic norms like maintaining social distance, wearing masks and using hand sanitizers are must to keep the virus at bay.
Officials are claiming that the new variants of COVID are not present in J&K and situation can be tackled but for that to happen people have to cooperate and understand that the virus is contagious and it multiplies rapidly. We have to take precautions to keep ourselves safe.
When the COVID-19 had appeared last year entire world had gone into a lockdown mode as no one was aware about how the virus would behave but during the past one year we have learnt many things.
Doctors have been treating the patients and the treatment is working. But the only thing we have to bear in mind is that if the cases get multiplied this will put burden on the healthcare infrastructure and it can lead to entire system getting collapsed.
Taking precautions is in our own hands. Developing herd immunity is the best possible way to defeat the pandemic but for that we need to make our immune system strong.
The government is making the vaccines available for all and within a few days everyone will be eligible for the COVID-19 jab.
Experts firmly believe that the vaccine is a shield and develops immunity the only thing which they are not sure about is how long will the protection last?
