Noted playwright Rakesh Roshan Bhat releases book of two Kashmiri Plays

Jammu, Apr 4: Vomedh released the book of Rakesh Roshan Bhat, a noted playwright of the JK UT. The book comprises of two of his famous plays ‘Chopayer yee gaash’ and ‘Gaad Bateh’. Rakesh has written plays in Kashmiri and Hindi which have been hugely popular and have been staged in various cities of India. Both of these plays are satirical timeless comedies based on the issues of Kashmiri Pandits. The foreword of the book has been written by Padma Shri Balwant Thakur and Bollywood actor and theatre guru Lalit Parimoo. The book also includes commendations from other theatre personalities like M K Raina, Mushtaq Kak, Ravinder Kaul, Dr. Sudhir Mahajan and Manzoor Ahmad Mir.
Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor Jammu university was the chief guest for the function and Sanjay Saraf, National spokesperson of LJP was the guest of honor. Alongwith them the book was released amid a very excited audience by prominent personalities Mushtaq Kak, Ravinder Kaul, Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Dr. Agnishekhar Dr. Ajay Chrungoo, Ramesh Hanglu, Ayash Arif, Amanjeet Aman and Bharti Kaul. In a very heartening gesture Vomedh also invited the parent of Rakesh for book release.
In the welcome address, Rohit Bhat, President Vomedh expressed happiness that Vomedh got the opportunity to release of first book of Rakesh whose all plays Vomedh has staged across various cities in India.
Speaking on the occasion Manoj Dhar appreciated Rakesh for taking up playwriting and mentoring Vomedh in theatre while pursuing a corporate job. Rakesh in his address acknowledged the contribution of all the people who have been part of this journey in theatre till now especially the director Rohit Bhat and Vomedh team who have been instrumental in bringing his plays to life on stage.
On the occasion, Vomedh also felicitated the participants of its quarantine series with momentos. Vomedh was perhaps the pioneer in the online engagement with the onset of pandemic. It started an online series named quarantine series with the start of lockdown with an intention to spread the positivity in society. The series went on to complete 100 episodes. Prominent people of JK UT from different walks of life participated in this series and shared their life journey and experiences.
All covid protocols and SOPs were followed by organizers during the function.
