| Stop vandalism of Mubarak Mandi Heritage building: Citizens’ Forum | | | JAMMU, Apr 4: Senior members of Citizens’ Forum requested LG Manoj Sinha to get stopped vandalism of Mubarak Mandi heritage building in the name of its restoration. Our Forum General Secretary Sunny Dua's report on working of restoration of Mubarak Mandi is so damaging that we feel it is not only vandalism but total waste of public money in the hands of heritage Society which lacks people who don't possess a vision to know the conservation of this great Heritage building of Jammu. R K Chadha, president Citizens’ Forum said we feel the restoration work has been given to local building contractors who does not know the value of historical arti- facts and are using these as raw material to save money. We have already suffered a huge loss in money and building deterioration during political handling of restoration by Ghulam Nabi Azad and Gulchain Singh Charak , spending astronomical amounts and wanted this building to convert in to a Hotel to be sold to some Corporate. How the money was spent nobody is awnserable. People of Jammu have always been robbed of their treasure in the name of restoration by one way or the other. Forum requested Manoj Sinha to appoint some members with historical vision who are ready to hear the wrong done by them and don't snub those who find fault with the executioners. Jammu people will not allow to play with our heritage assets.
