DC Poonch reviews COVID-19 control measures in District

POONCH, Apr 4: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today chaired a meeting to review the control measures in view of rise in Corona Virus cases. The meeting, in consonance with government guidelines, decided to take strong measures to enforce SoPs including social distancing and using of masks. The Deputy Commissioner expressed grave concern over the surge in COVID-19 cases in the District and asked the concerned not to show any laxity in enforcing protocols.
The Deputy Commissioner discussed the status of ongoing vaccination drive in the District. He stressed upon the Revenue Officers, including Sub Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars to immediately call meeting of their subordinate staff to rope in patwaries, Asha Workers, Anganwari Workers, Teachers etc and VLWs for mass spreading awareness among common masses about COVID protocols. He exhorted upon the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Superintendent District Hospital to intensify the vaccination drive with special thrust on vulnerable groups and frontline workers.
With a view to start a result oriented vaccination drive, he directed the ADDC Poonch to ensure 100% vaccination of PRI representatives already registered on COWIN. This will leave a positive impact on the general public, he said.
Highlighting the importance of close coordination among different agencies of the government involved in the mitigation efforts, he passed directions for the establishment of dedicated control rooms at Sub Division Level and Block Levels to share data and take effective measures in case of any emergency like situation in their respective areas with the District Control Room.
The Deputy Commissioner issued directions to CMO Poonch and Block Medical Officers of the District to set up Isolation Centres having capacity to accommodate 100 patients in one go, in a ready to use condition. He further directed the District Informatics Officer to update data base of all the employees working in the District to meet up with any exigency occurring due to unprecedented rise in the COVID cases.
Among others, who attended the meeting included Sr. Superintendent of Police Poonch, Vinod Kumar; ADDC, Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Basharat Hussain; ACR , Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, CMO, Dr. G.A Malik, Nodal Officer COVID, Zamood Ahmed, and Sectoral Officers from all the Tehsils and blocks of District Poonch.
