Pouni, Apr 14: FIT INDIA Walkathon organised in remotest hilly hamlet Ikhani of Pora Kotla Panchayat tehsil Pouni under the stewardship of Sanjeev Kumar Sharma Head Teacher of GPS Ikhani
The walkathon was organised as per the guidelines of Fit India Desk Directorate of school Education jammu in collaboration with CEO Reasi and ZEO Pouni.
Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Zonal Nodal Officer FIT INDIA Pouni disclosed that the walkathon was organised in compliance to the monthly activity roaster of DSEJ(Fit India) whose motive is to keep every children fit and health conscious especially during the health emergency of Covid 19.
Children upto thirty numbers along with local youth participated in the event and walked on plane stretch of 1km by following Covid guidelines. Besides locals and children also raised slogans of Fit India on their road march while showcasing the achievements of Fit India DSEJ at country's top ranking.
On the occasion masks were also distributed among children participating in the event with the awareness against Covid 19.
Govind Sharma Nodal Officer FIT INDIA DSEJ said it's a matter of great pride for Fit india desk DSEJ,DNO and ZNO that sporting Initiative of central Government is flourishing deep into rural and hilly terrains of Jammu Kashmir with the hardworking attitude of all teaching and student fraternity including volunteers.
Fit India Desk Directorate of school Education jammu will always extend assistance to all volunteers who are taking the initiative in every nook and corner of union territory of jammu kashmir Sharma added.
Locals along with Kherru singh, Vikram Singh,Tilak Singh, Pashori singh & Sher Mohd Naib Sarpanch of the area expressed deep gratitude to the education department for timely organizing such innovations of public interest in the society.
