Ajit Colony Welfare Committee hold meeting, discuss problems
4/15/2021 11:11:58 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Apr 15: A meeting of the Executive Body of Ajit Colony Extn. Welfare Committee was held under the chairmanship of Bhushan Lal Koul, President to discuss the problems being faced by this most neglected colony of Jammu West which is deprived of one of the basic amenities of a clean and healthy locality i.e. effective drainage system as none was ever constructed.
After repeated requests to the erstwhile elected representative of the Jammu West constituency, a technical report by the concerned officers was submitted but despite the detailed project reports no funds were ever allotted and the residents continued to suffer.
Even black topping of the road is long overdue. Hon'ble Corporator, Sat Pal Karlupia was also invited to the meeting and a representation was made to him. He was also requested to get the mulba dumped near House No. 57 & 62 obstructing the free flow of rain water of the entire street removed.
This dumping will lead to stagnation of water, breeding of flies and mosquitoes, spread of diseases, difficulty in walking and driving and the fear of entering water in these houses due to water logging.
Corporator assured to take up the matter with Mayor and persuaded him to personally visit along with the concerned officers and get the problem resolved. Among those who attended the meeting included Harbans Singh (Senior Vice President), Trilok Singh (Vice President), D.K Raina ( Joint Secretary), B.N Jutshi (Cashier), Dilip Kumar Raina, Gurdeep Singh, Puran Chand, Ramesh Bhat and Arun Jandial ( Secretary).
