JAMMU, Apr 15: Annoyed with the poor arrangements, the District Development Council Chairperson, Vice Chairperson along with other members today boycotted the inaugural function of the office of District Chairperson at Kishtwar; forcing the administration to cancel the function.
According to the details available with Early Times, Chief Executive Officer District Development Council Kishtwar issued a circular inviting the attention towards government desire to make the offices of District Development Council Chairperson and Vice Chairperson functional and in this regard the official function was announced today at 11 am in the first floor build of Assistant Director District Employment and Counselling centre adjacent to District Administrative complex Kishtwar, but the newly elected Chairperson and Vice Chairperson were annoyed due to lack of proper maintenance and well being of the complex and unanimously resolved to boycott the function.
Speaking to Early Times, DDC Chairperson Kishtwar Pooja Thakur confirmed the cancellation of today's function following boycott by them.
"We conveyed to the administration yesterday itself that we are not going to attend the function since the proposed office is not upto the mark besides lacking proper furnishing and hence is not feasible for operating the office of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson," Pooja Thakur said. She said that until and unless the administration didn't establish a well equipped office, they will not participate in any such inaugural function.
She said that they will continue to operate from an existing temporary office at Dak Bungalow Kishtwar.
"We had demanded to establish the office within the premises of DC office Kishtwar as it is a huge complex. Let administration arrange accommodation inside it," said DDC members while slamming the administration for adopting a non-responsive approach towards the DDCs.
