Eight localities notified as micro- containment zones in Baramulla

BARAMULLA, Apr 15: Amid surge in COVID-related cases, District Magistrate Baramulla has notified eight localities as micro-containment zones here on Thursday.
With regard to declaration of micro containment zones, an order vide no: DMB/NO/COVID-19/2021/391 dated 15/04/2021 was issued by the District Magistrate Baramulla.
The order reads that, in view of emerging situation due to COVID, the state executive committee of department of disaster management, Relief Rehabilitation and Reconstruction vide government order no: 11-JK (DMRRR) of 2021 date 30/03/2021 has empowered the district magistrate to take local preventive measures for checking spurt in infections.
The locations that have been added into the micro containment zones include; Khawaja Bagh Lower (petrol pump to Jetty road), Chak Kanispora, Sangri Colony, Kanli Bagh, Dewan Bagh and Delina (Qazi Mohalla, Rawatpora, Delina Ghat and Milat Colony), Sherwani and Lone Mohalla, Ferozpora Tangmarg.
The notified areas, as per the order, shall be under strict lock down and tight perimeter control, except for essential needs. For any medical emergency, individuals can contact the 24X7 control room at 01952-22343, 7006493646 and necessary facilitation shall be done.
The persons' residing in the designated containment zones have in the meantime been asked to get their tests done mandatorily, contrary to which they shall invite action including lodging of FIR under relevant provisions of Disaster Management Act.
Duty Magistrate, BMO and SHO concerned of the areas shall ensure that 100% sampling and testing is done, reads an order.
According to details, 136 new positive cases were recorded today including 16 travelers and 120 others, where as cumulative are 10138, active positive cases are 945 while 44 have recovered today and the total number of deaths in this north Kashmir district have reached to 183, second highest after Srinagar district.
