PHDCCI J&K organizes awareness webinar on ‘Teeka Utsav’

JAMMU, Apr 15: On the Occasion of the ‘Teeka Utsav’ the clarion call given by Prime Minister, the beginning of the second big war against Corona Pandemic. The PHDCCI J&K on the culmination of Teeka Utsav” Vaccination Drive held a Virtual Awareness session on the importance of Covid Vaccination.
Pradeep Multani, Sr Vice President, PHDCCI while giving his presidential address urged all the participants and industrialists to participate in the ‘Teeka Utsav’ by encouraging people at their workplace and also out of their premises to get vaccinated and follow the instructions related to Covid-19 as prescribed by doctors and government. He also stressed on the importance of Ayurvedic Medicines in order to boost the immunity which is the key factor in the fight against pandemic.
Rahul Sahai Chairman PHDCCI Jammu, while moderating the session said, COVID- 19, the virus with a crown - has incredible speed at which it changes its strains. 2020 was a year which lockdowns the world over. Humans have endured worse fates throughout history and have a capacity to bounce back. This is not the first pandemic nor will it be the last. Our lack of preparedness in terms of COVID-19 vaccine made us dread the disease. Sahai said now in 2021,we are blessed to have several vaccines to counter this virus . This virus in its second wave is becoming more virulent, so necessary precaution is to be taken in hygiene and social distancing. But our biggest responsibility comes to get ourselves inoculated with the available vaccines in India.
Baldev Singh Raina, Chairman, PHDCCI Kashmir in his address stated that we understand, a vaccine does not completely prevent you from getting infected, but it almost certainly prevents death or serious complications. Given the fact that about 85 per cent of the people who have died due to the virus are above the age of 45, we need to vaccinate this population first.
Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather Director Health Services Kashmir in his remarks appealed people for more and more vaccination, hailed role of social media in awareness said all the organisations should organize such webinars Dr Shahid Hussain Extended Program Immunization Officer (EPIO) Directorate of Family Welfare, MCH and Immunization, J&K in his address gave data of vaccination done in the J&K also said he is satisfied by the number of vaccination done in UT, he also appealed various religious heads to come forward make people understand the benefits of vaccination.
Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma Principal & Dean Government Medical College Jammu while in his address said COVID appropriate behaviour and vaccination are the only two big weapons against the resurging COVID 19 PANDEMIC. All eligibles are requested to get Vaccinated at an earliest and no vaccine should be wasted. Others who attended the webinar included Dr Rahul Gupta Prof. & Head Department of Pulmonary Medicine Government Medical College Jammu, Dr Mir Faisal Leading Pulmonologist, Kashmir, Dr Shahid Hussain Extended Program Immunization Officer (EPIO) Directorate of Family Welfare, MCH and Immunization J&K, Dr Ankur Gupta Director ModeI Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jammu, Pradip Gandotra, Chairman Civil Society Jammu and Showket Choudhary Co-Chair PHDCCI Kashmir.
