Batalkote residents meet NC leader Jan, raises issue of defunct WSS

POONCH, Apr 18: A deputation of residents from Batalkote Loran area in Poonch district met Provincial President Youth National Conference and former MLA, Ajaz Jan.
While interacting with the NC leader, the locals expressed their displeasure over poor functioning of Jal Shakti Department in their area. They lodged a strong resentment over the closure of the Water Supply Scheme (WSS) and alleged that hardships of people have increased in the Holy month of Ramzan.
People said that from last around one month, the Water Supply Scheme in Batalkote Loran is lying defunct and people are left with no other option than to fetch water from natural sources.
Provincial President of Youth NC, Ajaz Jan said that Holy month of Ramadan is going on but people in Batalkote are suffering at the hands of Jal Shakti Department.
No officer of the department bothers to visit the area and to take stock of grievances of people who are suffering badly, he added.
