Solve peoples’ problems, Munish Gupta urges LG
Damaged, blocked drains irk locals of ward 1 of Dharp Kotha

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 18: Recent rain has exposed the administration’s claims of development in Jammu, as garbage and filth due to rain water came on road and streets in lane number 2 of Dharp Kotha Ward 1. Drainage system of the area has almost collapsed, and an immediate repair works of drainage is required by authorities not taking our repeated requests seriously, said the residents of ward 1 of Dharp Kotha.
“Repairing works of the drainage are pending for years together. The choked drains in the area have become a headache for the local residents, the choked drains sometimes become the cause of water logging and lanes in the area become line swimming pool”, said the angry residents.
“It becomes terrible during rain to walk over here. We have brought our suffering in administration’s notice through different means, but unfortunately, cognizance of our sufferings has not been taken yet.
During the past three years, Engineers from PWD, R&B and UEED have repeatedly visited this area, but the required works couldn’t see day lights till date”, they said.
Lambasting the state leadership of J&K, the local said every family of Jammu district is a dedicated small unit of party, but no one listens to us, when we raised our issues with party leaders.
“There is no shortage of funds on the part of central leadership under PM Narendra Modi rules, billions of rupees being pumped by the centre in J&K for various development of works, but due to inefficiency of our local leaders we are getting nothing. Modi Government-I and II has left no stone unturned for J&K’s development, but unfortunately those who were supposed to do justice with masses at gross root level, preferred a closed door meeting instead of listing/ addressing public issues”, the resident said.
Editor-in-Chief, Early Times, Munish Gupta supporting demands of the public has urged upon the LG Manoj Sinha for timely redressal of public grievances. “Under leadership of LG Manoj Sinha, many development activities are undergoing in JK UT. I hope and request LG Sahib for his kind intervention for the maintenance of public utilities”, Munish said.
