MSK Poonch facilitates admission of destitute children in Bal Ashram

POONCH, Apr 18: District Level Centre for Women - Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) Poonch has facilitated admission of three destitute siblings in Bal Ashram. Javid ,Shakeel and Shabnam- children of a handicapped father with no permanent source of income were identified by the MSK team during an awareness programme held recently at village Saikloo Poonch. The father of these three is a handicapped, while the mother is the only earning member of their family. With bare subsistence means she could earn hardly two time meals for her family. Since she struggled to make two ends meet, education was not even an option for her kids. The Mahila Shakti Kendra team comprising Priya Sharma Women Welfare officer; Tirath Kour District Coordinator and Nooreen Azam District coordinator; met with District social welfare officer and Tehsil social welfare regarding this matter and the kids were registered in Bal Ashram for continuing their education.
