Jammu, Apr 19: Although COVID cases are rising in entire Jammu and Kashmir UT rapidly but administration in Jammu district has been facing tough time to make people follow COVID guidelines in the busy market of Jammu city.
Social media is flooded with such reports of violations being observed in the various markets of Jammu city, where people are hardly seen maintaining social distancing and some can be seen without face masks. Sensing a serious situation, senior citizens are of the opinion that weekly lockdowns should be imposed to break the virus chain.
Pertinently Early Times has published many news items in print as well as in social media platforms about violation of COVID guidelines. “More police teams should be deployed in busy markets of Jammu city. Overloaded vehicles should be stopped. Widespread awareness cum self restraint should be adopted by the people. Reducing business timing from 10 am to 4 pm can also help in countering COVID,” they said.
It has been seen that people are not showing interest in conducting COVID test and vaccination also, which is becoming the main cause of concern. Administration should take a step of door to door test and create awareness among the people. When Early Times contacted some SSPs of Jammu division, they said that the police has been making all efforts to control COVID violation.
