Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 19: Even as BJP national president J P Nadda has directed all State and UT units to reach out to the masses to fight deadly Coronavirus, leaders of the J&K unit of the party appeared to be having gone into hibernation following the deterioration of the situation. Nadda on Sunday had asked party functionaries to launch the “Apna Booth Corona Mukt” (Our booth is free of the corona) campaign amid a huge surge in the COVID-19 cases across the country.
Nadda addressed national office-bearers and state unit chiefs in a virtual meeting and asked state units to set up help desks and put out a helpline number for the people. They should take measures to help Covid-19 patients admitted in hospitals, he said.
24 hours have been passed after directions of Nadda, leaders of the J&K unit of BJP have not taken any step. Instead of taking some effective steps to minimize woes of the people, BJP leaders have rather gone underground as they are not responding to the phone of people in distress.
Reports said that amid a surge in corona positive cases across the Union Territory (UT) of J&K the BJP has directed its leaders not to hold any meeting or function in party headquarters, situated at posh Trikuta Nagar locality in Jammu city.
The public in the office is also restricted so as to check the spread of the deadly virus.
Sources said that as of now leaders have restricted activities at party headquarters as a precautionary measure.
Nadda has asked that members should distribute masks and sanitizers and also coordinate with the local administration to launch campaign for plasma donation.
