Early Times Report

Mendhar, Apr 19: In tehsil Mendhar town, a police officer today recovered a fine of a without mask from a shopkeeper without giving it a receipt. The shopkeepers of Mendhar Bazaar accused the police that one police officer whose name was written on the Name plate in PSI “Sham” comes to a stationery shop along with two other policemen and says that you fined for not wearing a mask.
The shopkeeper said that Sir, You will see this glass of water my hand but Police offical does not agree.” When the shopkeeper asked for a receipt from the PSI after paying the fine, it was further replied that the name was written only on the temporary Diary, not the receipt. This question was raised by the shopkeepers on the police. In this way, fines are being collected from the people without receipts, where is this money going.
The shopkeepers have demanded to SSP Poonch that such police officers should be strictly asked how they are fining people in this way.
The shopkeepers said that at this time all of us should support everyone in the corona virus epidemic so that it can be fought. But if the police officer will deal with the common people in this way, then it is a matter of concern that the District Development Commissioner Poonch should take cognizance of this matter they said.
Block Medical Officer Mendhar in this regard said, “no chalan is valid without chalanbook, whereas SDPO Mendhar expressed his unweeting in this matter”. IGP Jammu assured for strict action against the violators.
