DC Samba discusses covid control measures, vaccination; execution of schemes with Sarpanchs

SAMBA, Apr 19: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta, today convened a meeting of Sarpanches of 101 Panchayats of 09 blocks to seek their cooperation in Covid control measures, vaccination drive, promotion of Jal Shakti Abhiyan and host of other government programmes, here at Conference Hall, DC office, Samba.
Additional District Development Commissioner, T R Shastri; Assistant Commissioner Development, Sidharath Dhiman; Chief Planning Officer; Sukhleen Kour besides block development officers of 09 blocks and other field staff of RDD were also present.
The Deputy Commissioner sought cooperation and participation of all the PRI members in sustaining and effective implementation of the govt schemes at the ground level. She asked them to supplement the efforts of administration in motivating the public to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) in wake of second Covid-19 pandemic wave, including restriction on gatherings, closure of schools, colleges & universities, directions to market associations, besides imposing fine on non adherence to Covid appropriate behaviour. The DC said that government has intensified Covid vaccination drive. “In district samba 30 designated vaccination booths have been setup for accelerating protection against the Covid,” She informed.
She urged to all the members present in the meeting to promote adherence to Covid appropriate behaviour and also motivate the public for registering themselves for Covid vaccination through cowin/arogya setu app. The Deputy Commissioner Samba also directed ACD Samba to hold awareness camps in all the Panchayats for promotion of Covid control measures. She exhorted upon all the members to take active part in the measures being taken by the administration.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner Samba also discussed registration under AB-PMJAY (SEHAT) scheme; activities being carried under Jal Shakti Abhiyan ‘Catch the Rain’ mission, RDD Development works and other issues.
