ANTF foils Heroin smuggling bid, arrest 2 drug peddlers

Jammu, Apr 19: The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday arrested two drug peddlers and foiled their bid to smuggle Heroin worth lakhs.
In a statement a ANTF spokesman said, “ The force received specific information that two persons namely Nazir Ahmed S/o Mohd Amin R/o Zangibad, Nowgam Srinagar and Ayaz Ahmed S/o Kamgar Malik R/o Akramabad Doda were coming near Balidan Stambh Bagh- E- Bahu Jammu to sell Heroin to some local youth.
On this information ANTF team immediately swung into action and laid Naka near Balidan Stambh Bagh- E- Bahu Jammu. The above mentioned persons were intercepted by the ANTF team in a white colour Alto car bearing (No. JK02CK-1444) and during search, ANTF team recovered 160 grams of Heroin from their possession.” “Both of them have been arrested in the instant case and the Alto car has been seized and a case has been registered under relevant sections under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and Anti Narcotics Task Force is investigating further links. More arrests are expected,” the spokesman said.
Anti Narcotic Task Force has urged general public to share information regarding such drug dealers so that appropriate legal actions are taken against them and this menace is uprooted from the society.
