Udhampur DC emphasizes on maintaining social distancing at places with huge footfall

UDHAMPUR, Apr 28: To take stock of the implementation of COVID-19 containment measures in the District, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib visited Fruit and Vegetable Mandi and inspected containment measures.
Marketing Inspector, Vijay Atri apprised the DC about the action taken by the department in consultation with fruit and vegetable association Udhampur to implement the SOPs of COVID-19. She advised the stakeholders to strictly adhere to the Covid guidelines and directives of the Government in letter and spirit.
She directed the concerned department to take immediate measures and clear the traffic congestion on approach road and also inside Mandi . She directed for establishing the checkpoint in front of the entry gate so that visitors can be screened at the entry point.President Mandi Association assured that all the Covid SOPs like Social distancing, wearing face mask, Using hand sanitizer etc will be ensured in the Mandi.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected BrahmRishi Bawara school and interacted with the principal. It was briefed that online classes are being conducted for students.
She emphasized that all SOPs being issued by the school education department should be followed in letter and spirit and the teachers and the staff conducting online classes need not to come to school as per the latest government order.
