KISHTWAR, Apr 28: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Kishtwar has fined several traders during market checking conducted in Kishtwar town, Drabshalla and adjoining areas in the holy month of Ramzan.
As many as 07 traders were booked for various violations of Legal Metrology Act./Rules, such as use of defective weighing instruments, less weighing and lack of proper declarations on pre-packaged commodities. A composition sum of Rs 32000 (Thirty two thousands only) was recovered from the 07 offenders.
The traders were advised to use only verified weighing and measuring instruments for commercial transactions and to desist from sale of Non-Standard pre-packaged commodities without required declarations for the information of consumers. |
