GCW Udh RDC cadet brings laurels to college

Udhampur, May 3: NCC cadet of Govt College for Women(GCW) , Udhampur brought laurels for the college and J&K NCC Directorate by participating in the recent Republic Day Parade, 2021 at New Delhi. Cadet Shavani Sharma, got an opportunity not only to be a part of NCC squad to march on Rajpath before the Nation but also participated in the PM's Rally. "This cadet along with the other cadets of the state has a distinguished role in bringing the J&K NCC Directorate to 11th position out of 17 contingents. Because of the Covid pandemic this year, a total of 26 cadets from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir participated wherein 10 girl cadets and 16 boy cadets were shortlisted after a very tough rigorous selection process.
Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college has congratulated the cadets for her exemplary achievements. She also lauded the contribution of cadets and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, through Ex 'NCC Yogdaan' as frontline Corona warriors, and Shavani being one of them has set an example for rest of the students of the college.
Prominent among the present were Kamal Deep Kaur, Prof Sanjay Kumar, NSS Programme Officer, Arun Gupta, Librarian, Rajneesh Mahajan, senior laboratory assistant and Anju Sharma, senior assistant.
