Return of Kashmir Pandits was cherished desire of Jagmohan
5/4/2021 11:12:29 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 4: In the month of September 2019, when Union Home Minister, Amit Shah along with his cabinet colleague Dharminder Pradhan and BJP president J P Nadda met Jagmohan at his residence the former Governor of J&K said that it was his dream to see the return of displaced Kashmiri Pandits to their native places in Kashmir Valley. BJP leaders were called on Jagmohan after Union Government abrogated Article 370 and 35-A and bi-furcated the erstwhile state of J&K into two Union Territories (UT). Jagmohan appreciated historic decision of the BJP led NDA government but said that next target of the government should be to take back displaced Kashmiri Pandits to their native places. It was during the second tenure of Jagmohan, as Governor of the erstwhile state of J&K that Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their homes and hearts from Kashmir Valley due to terror threats. “Now, the current government has shown courage and removed Article 370 to bring these regions into the mainstream. I want to see Kashmiri Pandit’s return with dignity and pride to their homeland and their status restored”, Jagmohan had once tweeted, while mentioning the ‘Shikara’ movie of Vidu Vinod Chopra.
