Ashok blames BJP for unchecked corruption, misconduct in four lane NH-44 construction

Jammu, May 7Ashok Kumar, former MLA from Ramban has said that the uncurbed corruption and mis-management during the BJP regime has resulted in dilapidated condition of NH-44 from Udhampur to Banihal.
He questioned two times Member of Parliament from this constituency for completely ignoring the work culture and promoting corruption and mis-management in the process of construction of four lane project NH-44 in last 7 years which have triggered man-made landslides, loss of innocent lives, agricultural land and human settlement and huge ecological imbalance in Ramban District.
In a statement issued here, “he said that despite heavy penalties imposed on the concerned companies for violating (environment Impact assessment) norms in this stretch, not even a single penny have been utilize for the damaged caused. Moreover, the air pollution have increased tremendously further risking innocent lives in already covid-19 pandemic milieu.
Ashok further said that due to frequent landslides in this stretch many commuters have lost their lives because of shooting stones.
The locals commuters have to face daily traffic menace risking their lives even army convey have to face many difficulties in reaching Kashmir. Serious patients in ambulance have stuck in between due to this menace.
Ashok has stressed upon the Government of India to immediately constitute a transparent monitoring and assessment Committee to save the lives of thousands of people in this region.
He also demanded two lane blacktopping from Udhampur to Banihal for creating dust free environment and smooth conduct of vehicle movement.
He also urged to the concerned Authorities to protect the river chenab from this unsustainable development.
