One died due to COVID 19 in Kishtwar, several areas declared micro containment zones

Kishtwar, May 7: Like in other parts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the number of COVID 19 cases also witness rise in Kishtwar District and as many as 39 cases were reported from the District in last 24 hours and as per the official data, Kishtwar District had 196 active COVID 19 cases.
As per the details available with Early Times, Kishtwar District today witnessed one death due to COVID 19- 3rd in last four days. The fresh death was reported from District Hospital Kishtwar and the victim was identified as 81 year old Bansi Lal Shan, resident of Wasser in the outskirts of Kishtwar town.
Overall 25 deaths were reported from the District since the outbreak of the disease.
Meanwhile administration imposed strict 3rd week end lockdown in Kishtwar District.
Several people were penalised for not adhering to lockdown timing which was announced about two weeks ago.
Police vehicles and the vehicles from health department are constantly making announcements aware the people about the use of masks and social distancing beside also making announcements with regard to implementation of week end lockdown.
Earlier senior officials of the administration including DC Kishtwar Ashok Kumar Sharma, SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Butt, ASP Kishtwar Musheem Ahmed, ACR Kishtwar Akthar Hussain Qazi, Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar Davinder Singh Bandral, Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramod Kumar, SHO Kishtwar Abid Shah Bukhari hit the roads and markets to ensure decongestion of the markets at Bus Stand Kishtwar, Jamia Market, Chinar Gali, Gulhali Chowk, Amar Market, Mini Bus Stand and other areas from where their are reports of huge gatherings of people busy in Eid shopping.
All the officials urge the people to cooperate so that the deadly disease could be prevented from spreading in the District.
The health department team at bus stand Kishtwar also collected random sampling of people’s.
Police team also swung into action and got the people tested for COVID 19.
